Bipolar Disorder Symptoms

The following is a list of common symptoms associated with Bipolar Disorder.

Symptoms can vary from person to person, as well as the severity and frequency of the episodes.

Mania / Hypomania Symptoms

  • Feeling exhilarated, wired, upbeat

  • Feeling easily agitated, jumpy

  • Increased energy

  • Sleep decrease

  • Taking on multiple tasks

  • Feelings of self-importance, powerful

  • Increased appetite

Major Depressive Episode Symptoms

  • Feeling exhausted
  • Persistent feeling of sadness, numbness
  • Anxiety
  • Trouble falling asleep, interrupted sleep or oversleeping
  • Lack of interest in things you generally find enjoyment in
  • Feelings of hopelessness
  • Intrusive suicidal thoughts
