Psychological and Emotional Trauma Overview

We offer treatment for trauma to those living in and around Albany, OR.

Most people have experienced some type of trauma in their lives.  We have all heard about horrific tales of abuse and tragedy, but these are not the only types of trauma.   Other events that to an outside observer may appear harmless or “normal”, can also be traumatic.  These experiences help shape our beliefs about the world and ourselves.  When we are able to reprocess traumatic experiences, we are able to see ourselves and the world around us more clearly.   Helping others move forward and reclaim their lives from trauma is a true honor.

For some, trauma has manifested into PTSD or PTSD symptoms. To read more about how we can help with PTSD, click here.

Is Reclaim Life the Right Fit for Me?

We see you as a person and not by your diagnosis. This means that we get to know you, your strengths and your experiences – and use that information to best design your course of treatment.

We use several therapies that have greatly benefited those afflicted by trauma. If you are a candidate, one such treatment is a (usually) multi-course therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment which allows the brain to process past traumas.

EMDR isn’t the only tool available, of course. Everyone is different and we want to work with you to determine your specific therapeutic needs and develop an actionable treatment plan to help you reclaim your life.

We provide both child and adult PTSD and trauma therapy.

How We Can Help

We take a multi-pronged approach where we teach you the skills needed to manage your symptoms in conjunction with treating the underlying trauma or traumas using evidence-based therapies.

Trauma can affect nearly every aspect of your life, leaving you feeling like you are stuck. We want to help you live your life to your fullest potential.
