PTSD Overview

We offer PTSD treatment to those living in and around Albany, OR.

It is impossible to separate PTSD from trauma. Everyone with a PTSD diagnosis has experienced trauma. However, not everyone that experiences trauma will meet the criteria for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. That does not mean if they don’t meet the full criteria that they are not living in pain or that they would not benefit from treatment.  If an individual does meet criteria for PTSD, they often feel discouraged and helpless. PTSD is treatable. People can move forward in their lives. The most difficult part is finding the courage to reach out for help.

Is Reclaim Life the Right Fit for Me?

We see you as a person and not by your diagnosis. This means that we get to know you, your strengths and your experiences – and use that information to best design your course of treatment.

We use several therapies that have greatly benefited PTSD sufferers. If you are a candidate, one such treatment is a (usually) multi-course therapy called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a treatment which allows the brain to process past traumas. EMDR boasts a high success rate – the Department of Veterans Affairs gave it an A rating for PTSD treatment efficacy.

EMDR isn’t the only tool available, of course. Everyone is different and we want to work with you to determine your specific therapeutic needs and develop an actionable treatment plan to help you reclaim your life.

We provide both child and adult PTSD and trauma therapy.

How We Can Help

We take a multi-pronged approach where we teach you the skills needed to manage your PTSD symptoms in conjunction with treating the underlying trauma or traumas using evidence-based therapies.

PTSD can affect nearly every aspect of your life, leaving you feeling like you are stuck. We want to help you live your life to your fullest potential.
