“Hi there! My name is Autumn (they/them), and if you’re reading this I suspect you may be exhausted from reading bios and making phone calls. I admire the amount of work you’ve done towards finding someone to support you in your mental health journey. And that is how I see this work. You are the expert of your own life, so I offer my own experience and education as a way of helping you accomplish the goals you have for yourself. It’s okay if you aren’t quite sure what those goals are yet or how to get there. We can figure that out together!

I earned my Masters of Social Work at Portland State University in 2022. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults, transgender and gender-diverse clients, and neurodivergent (including ADHD and Autistic) clients. I work with clients on many of their challenges from depression to anxiety to trauma, but I don’t see people as their diagnoses. I use approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Existential-Humanistic Therapy, Play Therapy (including the therapeutic application of tabletop role-playing games), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to provide tools to build confidence, self-compassion, and coping skills that will build on your strengths to address your concerns.

I also work with LGBTQIA+ couples, polycules, and other relationship structures. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy, I work towards securely attached, compassionate, and supportive relationships. In many cases, relationships are like a dance. My job is not to take sides, but to explore patterns in this dance that cause concern and the emotional roots of these patterns with you. By restoring harmony to this dance, relationships can become a source of resiliency as partners turn towards each other in times of distress.

Congrats on making it to the end of a long bio! If you are interested in working together, feel free to reach out to our office to get more information about next steps. And even if not, I wish you all the best of luck in your journey. I see hope in your courage and applaud all the honest work you will accomplish. Take care.
